A mixture of oxycodone and acetaminophen, the Percocet is a very ordinary pill that is often used as a prescription for pain. It is an analgesic narcotic which means that it is a prescription pill prescribed by doctors, you cannot get it over the counter. Percocets work by by fastening to the receptors that more often than not communicate pain. A shocking strong drug, its shame is its extremely addictive nature.

If you are prescribed percocets by your doctor and you use them as he directs you to use them, there is a slim chance that you will become addicted. For those that do become addicted to percocets or any other drug in the narcotic opiate class, including heroin, you will experience horrible withdrawal symptoms. The withdrawal symptoms from opiates such as percocets include flu-like symptoms together with nausea, aching bones, insomnia, depression, sleeplessness, vomiting, cramps and petulance just to name a few. As a group, these are Percocet's abandonment symptoms and they are the characteristic of Percocet dependence.

What is Percocet dependence?

The National Institute of medicine Abuse defines any non-medical employment of a prescription anesthetic as abuse but the meaning of addiction is defined by what occurs when you bring an end to the drug use. Your body becomes used to the Percocet, requiring that you continuously take the percocets, and when you do not take them, symptoms like the ones described above kick in. When the withdrawal symptoms start to kick in is all dependent on how long you have been addicted, and how often you take the percocets, and how many you take. A good estimate of the start of withdrawal symptoms is about twelve to sixteen hours without any opiate intake.

What Causes Percocet dependence?
This is a complicated question for the reason that regardless of the information that medical professionals from the region of the world have been, for centuries, the researching and on the lookout for the response to this query, there still is not any one particular answer. It has been found that some of the answers can be found in hereditary traits, the people you hang out with, and what has happened to you in your past.

For those of you who do not know, percocet addiction and withdrawal is almost identical to heroin addiction. In fact, many people that are addicted to percocets or any other type or narcotic opiate pill, will often start using heroin because it is cheaper and easier to get.

How is Percocet Administered?

Percocets are most often taken orally, but many addicts also take percocets by breaking them down and sniffing them through their nostrils, or even injecting them. Out of all the diverse ways of administration, injecting percocets has the quickest onset, the strongest effects, and it is the most addictive form of administration.

What are widespread side effects of Percocet usage, what are the withdrawal symptoms?

* Nausea
* Drowsiness and dizziness
* Constipation
* Rashes or itchiness
* Emotional mood disorders, depression
* Dried mouth
* Slightly decreases testosterone levels in men
* Liver or renal damage if taken in huge doses

Percocets are often not thought of as a hard drug, but in a lot of ways percocets are just as dangerous as cocaine, and is in fact very similar to heroin. It is important to educate yourself on opiate addiction.
