I quit smoking! Yes, that's right; nine months ago I put out that final cigarette and became a non-smoker. I'm not going to tell you that it was a piece of cake, it definitely wasn't. It's one thing to kick the physical habit; after so many days your body is weaned off the nicotine and those cravings are gone. The hard part is kicking the emotional addiction. This is where the quit smoking hypnosis programs can be very helpful.

When we decide to quit smoking, we tend to worry a lot about nicotine cravings. Nicotine cravings can be bad, and that it's often useful to use a nicotine replacement like, nicotine gum or nicotine lozenges. The problem is that this is only dealing with one part of the addiction, and to most people this isn't even the most powerful one.

Quit smoking hypnosis solutions deal with the underlying emotional addiction. When someone who quit years ago still craves cigarettes, it's not because of the nicotine. It's the act of smoking they crave and miss. For a while after I quit smoking, I would occasionally take a drag of someone's cigarette because I thought that's what I craved. It really wasn't; the cigarette felt disgusting to me, and it no longer gave me the satisfaction it used to. I wasn't craving nicotine; I was craving the feeling smoking used to give me.

I don't crave cigarettes at all any more and haven't for a long time. The reason is that I took care of my emotional addiction as well as the physical.

Hypnosis works on your subconscious, the part of you that often times may be calling the shots without you knowing it. Smoking becomes a calming and safe habit for most smokers, and I think everybody can relate to that feeling of anxiety you get when you picture a life without cigarettes.

It's not that you don't want to quit, you can be the most ready person in the world. It's your subconscious believing the smoking is a coping mechanism that you need and therefore fighting your attempts to quit. How can you expect to succeed if your own brain doesn't want you to?

If you decide to go with a smoking hypnosis program, you decide to really commit to breaking your bad habit. You decide to work on the real reason you can't quit smoking; your emotional addiction.

As scary as it may be, realize this: when you deal with your emotional addiction to cigarettes using hypnosis, not only do you no longer crave the cigarettes; you won't even miss them. I expected to spend years still craving cigarettes when I quit. Everybody kept telling me how the cravings don't go away, and how you'll always secretly wish you could still smoke.

It's not true! I don't crave cigarettes and I don't miss them. I am very grateful that I quit smoking, and I feel no sense of loss about quitting. I don't hate smokers or smoking, I don't have to stay away from places where people smoke. I loved smoking for a while but it became time to quit. Quite frankly, I'm already at the point where I sometimes forget that I used to smoke. It's not something that really comes up very often, and I don't really think about it at all.

I know you might have a hard time believing that you can quit and then not think about it at all anymore, but you might very well be able to if you use a good smoking hypnosis solution to support you. I was never one of those people with a ton of willpower, and I'm still not. Willpower won't do you any good if your subconscious is trying to keep the status quo. All I did was realize the extent of my emotional addiction and decide to tackle that as well as my physical one.
