Ebooks are the perfect items to sell on eBay. They have none of the drawbacks of physical products. There is no up front inventory cost, there are no storage problems or storage costs, there is no shelf life to worry about, they won't go out of style every spring and fall, you can sell as many as you want and will never run out and you never have to ship ebooks.

Sounds like an unbeatable combination, the perfect selling environment and the perfect item to sell. Everyone should be making a killing! If that's the case, why do so many ebook sellers give up after only a short while of selling ebooks on eBay? What are they doing wrong?

Sellers who throw in the towel because they are not making a profit, have made the mistake of not thinking through a complete marketing plan. They have only put into place the very first part of a successful plan and then they stop. They have not thought their strategy through to the end goal.

What they have failed to do is take the next steps. The next part of the 99 cent sale is to turn that into a ten dollar and ninety nine cent sale. If you can do that on every sale, now you are going to start showing a profit.

There are strategies using your eBay store, your about me page, your guides and review pages, your ebook delivery system, your blog and your My World pages all together to get your buyer to where he will gladly buy more books and create a larger sale. It just takes a plan.
