To fight the 4500 retail stores that BlockBuster has, which it uses for promoting and advertising its online movie rental services, NetFlix has now tied up with Wal-Mart. This saves the shipping back time and the next lot of movies or games can be sent as soon as the previous batch of movies has been put in the post.

It remains to be observed as to how long this will last and when BlockBuster realizes that unlimited online movie rentals in a month will only give them a red bottom line. Whether they resort to unethical and surreptitious practices like the pioneers of online movie rentals or are candid and courageous enough to state it upfront is a matter of speculation.
