Just how important is linking? High link popularity can be a real ride to success when it's done right. It's a fact that more search engines are ranking webpages based on the number of links, pointing to your websites. It's safe to say that you should have high link popularity, if you want a more successful website. There are a few ways to work this plan.

If you want a good ranking with search engines, you'll need to work on your link popularity. The higher you rank on search engines, the more visitors you will get from searches. Always remember that searches don't create sales; this is a "part" of your plan.

Does your website have a low ranking? Are you worried about it? If so, you should start to do something to help raise your ranking because it could be an important move, for your business. It should only be a part of your total plan.

Technically speaking, link popularity refers to the total number of websites that link to your particular site. Is it work? Yes absolutely, but it can be well worth your time and effort.

Where do you begin?

1. Check your link popularity by going to Google.com Type in link: then add your website URL. A list of the websites that link to your website, will be shown.

2. Next, visit the websites that have linked to your competition. Write to them and ask if they would consider linking to your site.

3. Look for guestbooks when you go to websites. If you find guestbooks, leave a message. Always include your URL in your signature file.

4. Request links from other quality websites.

5. Link from directories

6. Keep searching for websites that have something in common with your website topic, so you can possibly exchange links.

What you are doing here, is establishing the right link popularity building process for your website. Your success is partially related to the number and quality of the links that you establish, along with your competition's link popularity. You'll need long term goals for this plan to develop, so be patient. You'll be constantly working the plan. It's also helpful to get a link on a few, well- known, high traffic sites.

A successful linking plan covers your incoming and outgoing links. You will constantly be looking for website similarities, especially with important websites.The process is not complicated. You ask the website owner to place their link or logo on your site and in exchange you will place your link on their website.

It's usually free to exchange links, so make the time to go for it. This could be a good, cost-free-way to improve your website ranking in the search engines.
