Skateboarding is something different then what it was back in the day it's not just a sport that kids do anymore it's a lifestyle that many people have chosen to live.

Most skaters are under the age of 18 and there are over 12 million people that participate in the sport today. It has reached the younger kids as well and they have taken it up quickly as some of the best skateboarders today are just in their teens.

The skateboarding industry of today is booming kids are getting into the sport very rapidly and people want all the right gear. You have everything from helmets to pads, rails, ramps, shoes there are all kinds of things that the skateboarding market is selling. The market for skateboarding isn't just for kids it has everything from stuff for 5 year old kids to adults. Everything that you could need to use with skateboarding, the skateboarding market today has it for you.

People will often wonder what is a pro skater? The answer is simple a pro skateboarder is someone who uses their talent to skateboard for money and to get paid. Usually the person will get sponsored and then will do photo shoots to make money. That is what a pro skateboarder is.

There are many good pro skateboarders such as Tony Hawk, Arto Sari, and PJ Ladd. There are all kinds of really good pro skateboarders and they all earn their money the same way by skateboarding. They will do photo shoots or commercials and earn their money that they live on. A lot of time they will do contests as well and if they place within the top three usually you get some type of big purse.

You can also enter other contests once you get sponsored so you can start doing sponsored events for your sponsor. You will make good money doing that if you win a lot of events or just place good. There is a lot of money to be made in any pro sport so if you want it you are going to have to work for it. That means entering contest like every contest that you can wherever there is one you enter it to make yourself a good reputation.

You will go from skateboarding in the streets to being in magazines if you get really good and take good pictures and videos and send them in to be evaluated by the company or sponsor you are trying to get with. There are so many things that you can do when you are a pro skateboarder. You can travel the world for free because there are numerous contests that take place around the world at different spots and they are held sometimes by the same people or company that sponsored you. So you need to start entering contest and taking video and pictures to really get to the top in the skateboarding industry. So go out buy a skateboard and start trying.
