Engineering Competitive Exams

After 10+2, many students are confused about choosing the right engineering college. There are many institutes providing professional engineering courses in many different branches like computer science, electrical, mechanical, and chemical and lots more which are mainly run by state government, centeral government and privately funded institutes. After all it’s a question ones career so why to take a risk. If some body wants to take admission in a renowned engineering college, he has to score good in entrance exam. For taking this competitive engineering exam, one has to score minimum of 55% for SC/ST and 60% in 10+2.Among all the engineering institutes, IIT –JEE (Indian institute of technology –Joint Entrance Exam) and AIEEE (All Indian Engineering Entrance Examination) are considered reputed and premier exams for getting admission into top notch engineering colleges.

IIT-JEE is a joint entrance exam for getting admission into seven IIT’s all over India at Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati, New Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur and Roorkee.Every year many aspirants not only from all over India but international aspirants also take this entrance exam for getting admission into bachelor degree course. The minimum eligibility criteria for taking this exam is that one has to pass with 60% (55% for SC/ST/physically disabled) in physics, chemistry, maths in 10+2. The exam is for 3 hours and there is negative marking also. There are two papers Paper-1 and Paper-2 each having objective type questions.

AIEEE is engineering entrance exam conducted all over India by C.B.S.E for getting admission into for premier Institutes for engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture courses.
People who score well or are top rankers are called for counseling cum admission for NIT’s on the basis of their All India Rank. AIEEE is normally conducted in the month of May. The minimum eligibility criteria for taking this exam is clearing 10+2 examination with some minimum percentage. The exam is of 3 hour duration. Apart from AIEEE, BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences) is also a premier institute for engineering. This engineering exam is conducted online. The campus is located in Hyderabad, Goa and Pilani.

Cracking above competitive exam and scoring well ensures admission into premier institutes .Every year, lakhs of students appear for these competitive engineering entrance exams but only few make it for IIT’s,NIT’s,BITS as there is a tough competition. Getting into a reputed engineering college after cracking these competitive exams means a good future and career, as these institutes provide very good placement to students with a very handsome salary package. Many good MNCs and other companies approach these reputed institutes for hiring students and also provide them with a very high package to entry level freshers only.

If one does not get admission in these premier institutes, don’t worry because this is not the end. There are many state levels engineering entrance like DCE, KCET, MHT-CET, WBJEE, VITEEE, HP-CPET, Punjab CET, Rajasthan CET, UP-SEE, EAMCET, Manipal UGET and many more. Also there are many privately funded colleges where you can get admission on the basis of AIEEE score if you are not among the top rankers but still strive for the best and consider this option of getting admission into privately funded institutes as last option and work hard for cracking these engineering entrance exams.
